Toronto Waterfront Marathon Information
Aid Stations, Water and Gatorade, Gels Water & Gatorade will both be available at the race party area near the finish line and registration area, and at all "Water & Aid stations" along the courses.
Each aid station has Gatorade, Water, and first aid personnel. Port-o-lets are also located at each aid station. Cytomax Gulp N' Go gels will be available on-course for the marathon at 32K and 37.5K.
Boston Marathon Qualifier The Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon is a registered AIMS Marathon, certified by Athletics Canada--which makes a great "Flat, Fast, Traffic Free, Boston Qualifier." If you qualify for Boston at the Waterfront Marathon, your eligibility period lasts for Boston in the year after AND the second year following. Example: someone qualifying at our 2007 marathon is eligible for one or both of the 2008 AND 2009 Boston marathons. Proof of qualification must accompany the application. Participants must be 18 years or older on race day. Qualifying times are based upon your age on the date of the Boston Marathon in which you will be participating.
Marathon (Start time: 7:00am) (no earlier start time) Starting at Metro Hall (Wellington & John), head east, switch to Front St. at Church, continue east to Parliament Street, turn south to Lakeshore Boulevard, left/east for 100m then turn WEST on Lakeshore and continue to Windermere, where you turn and head back east on eastbound Lakeshore to Stadium Road, right/south to Queens Quay, east to Parliament & Lakeshore Boulevard. Continue east on Lakeshore, south on Don Roadway, east on Commissioner's Street to Leslie. South on Leslie out the scenic Leslie Spit into Tommy Thompson Conservation area (2.5 down, 2.5k back), continue north on Leslie to Lakeshore. East on Lakeshore to Queen & Woodbine, where you turn around and run back on Lakeshore, left/south on Leslie, right/west onto Commissioner's, north on Don Roadway, left onto Lakeshore, west to Bay, north to Wellington and into a rousing finish at Metro Hall.
Half-Marathon (Start time: 7:00am) Starting at Metro Hall (Wellington & John), head east, switch to Front St. at Church, continue east to Parliament Street, turn south to Lakeshore Boulevard, left/east for 100m then turn WEST on Lakeshore and continue to Windermere, where you turn and head back east on eastbound Lakeshore to Bay St., then north to Wellington and into a strong finish at Metro Hall. Note: there is no early start for the half marathon this year.
5k (Start time: 7:45am) Heading east from Metro Hall (Wellington & John) to Bay Street, turning south to Harbour, left/east on Harbour to Parliament where you do a U-turn on Lakeshore from the eastbound lanes to the westbound lanes, back to Bay St., right/north on Bay to Wellington, left/west to the finish at Metro Hall.
5k Wheelchair (Start time: 7:40am) Wheelchair athletes will follow the 5k route and head out 5 minutes ahead of the 5k Run / Walk participants at 7:40am.
Course Limitations AGE LIMIT: Half Marathon = 16 years on race day AGE LIMIT: Marathon = 18 years on race day (no age limit for 5k)
Time Limits Marathon: 7 hours -- Power Walkers welcome! Half Marathon: 4 hours 5K: 1 hour, 10 minutes After the courses close, support will be limited, and participants assume the role of pedestrians.

Directions from the EAST (Scarborough, Kingston, Ottawa) From the 401: Take the DON VALLEY PARKWAY -- SOUTH. To the Gardiner Expressway west. Exit Spadina -- NORTH to KING STREET. Turn right -- find parking in the area. Metro Hall is 2 blocks to the east.
Directions from the WEST (Oakville, Burlington, London) QEW -- east to downtown Toronto. Follow the GARDINER EXPRESSWAY -- east to Spadina. Exit Spadina -- NORTH to KING STREET. Turn right -- find parking in the area. Metro Hall is 2 blocks to the east.
Directions from the NORTH (North York, Barrie, Sudbury) Head south on the 427 to the QEW -- east to downtown Toronto. Follow the GARDINER EXPRESSWAY -- east to Spadina. Exit Spadina -- NORTH to KING STREET. Turn right -- find parking in the area. Metro Hall is 2 blocks to the east.
